How do I clean my carbonating bottles?
Make sure to check the bottle for care information and to see if it is dishwasher-safe. Please note that all our glass carafes are dishwasher-safe.
For dishwasher-safe bottles, we recommend placing the bottles on the lower rack of the dishwasher. If your dishwasher has a visible heating element (found in older dishwashers), do not place the bottles directly above it. Do not put your bottle over more than one prong as multiple prongs can deform the spout.
To handwash your bottle, rinse with cold or lukewarm water. If needed, use a mild liquid dish soap. Make sure to avoid placing your bottle face down on a counter-top for prolonged periods of time as this can lead to trapped moisture.
How can I get rid of an odor in my bottle?
If your bottle has an odor, you can create a paste of 1 cup of baking soda with 1 cup of warm water or you can create a paste of 1 cup of white vinegar with 1 cup of warm water. Stir the mixture to dissolve and pour it into the bottle. Let the bottle soak overnight and wash the mixture out the next day, making sure to rinse the bottle well. You can also create the paste and let your bottle caps soak in it overnight, making sure to wash them the next day.
Can your bottles be recycled?
Our glass carafes and plastic carbonating bottles can be easily recycled. Check your product packaging to look for the recycle codes. You can also contact your local authority for further information on recycling.
Do the bottles expire?
Make sure to check the bottle for the expiration date and care information. Our plastic carbonating bottles can be used for up to 4 years for carbonation. After four years, the plastic carbonating bottles can no longer be used for carbonation, but they can be used to hold your beverages. Our glass carafes can be used indefinitely, provided they remain free from cracks or other damage.
How should I store the bottles?
Our handwash-only bottles are safe for use when kept between 34°F (1°C) and 120°F (50°C); our dishwasher-safe bottles are safe for use when kept between 34°F (1°C) and 158°F (70°C). Keep the bottles away from heat sources and out of the freezer.
